Running a business has taught me many things.

It has taught me that success is measured by far more than revenue. It has taught me that leadership is often quiet, that integrity is expensive, and that kindness requires courage. Most of all, it has reminded me that every single person we meet is carrying a story we know nothing about.

That is why I dedicate this business to God.

This isn’t about asking anyone to share my beliefs. At Multitasking Mum, we welcome people of every religion, every faith, every culture, and every background. Our clients, contractors, and community are wonderfully diverse, and we genuinely value that diversity.

For me, dedicating this business to God is deeply personal. It is a daily reminder of the person I want to become and the way I choose to serve others.

I believe that love, compassion, kindness, respect, forgiveness, honesty, humility, and service are values that have the power to unite people, regardless of what they believe.

Business is About People

People often think we simply clean homes.

Sometimes we walk into homes where a new baby has just arrived. Sometimes we meet elderly people living alone. Sometimes we support families navigating disability, illness, grief, separation, or overwhelming workloads.

Behind every front door is a human being with struggles, dreams, fears, and hopes.

Our responsibility is never just to complete a task.

Our responsibility is to make someone’s day a little lighter.

Sometimes that means restoring a home.

Sometimes it means listening without judgment.

Sometimes it means showing patience when someone is stressed.

Sometimes it simply means treating people with dignity.

Choosing Kindness Isn’t Always Easy

It’s easy to talk about kindness.

It’s much harder to choose kindness when you’re tired.

It’s easy to talk about compassion.

It’s much harder when someone speaks to you unfairly.

It’s easy to say we love our neighbours.

It’s much harder when we disagree with them, when they disappoint us, or when they hurt us.

We have experienced difficult moments ourselves.

We’ve had clients who acted in bad faith.

We’ve completed work that was never paid for.

We’ve faced misunderstandings, disappointments, and situations that felt deeply unfair.

Those experiences can easily make a business become defensive, cynical, or bitter.

But every difficult experience presents the same question:

Who do we want to become?

For us, the answer is always the same.

We choose professionalism.

We choose integrity.

We choose healthy boundaries.

We choose forgiveness—not because injustice is acceptable, but because bitterness steals far more from us than it ever takes from the other person.

Forgiveness does not mean allowing people to mistreat us.

It means refusing to allow someone else’s actions to define our own character.

We believe excellence is much more than achieving perfect results.

Excellence is arriving when we say we will.
